SHOOT DURING MAGIC HOUR!
It is always rewarding to get up at sunrise to take photos, but I must say this was uniquely exhilarating to be shooting around the tidal basin during the peak of the Cherry Blossom Festival. They told me the blossoms were fuller and more colorful this year, yet they came two weeks early.
My favorite view was across the water to the Jefferson Monument. The weather was beautiful and the water was calm so the reflection was nice. Many people were out for an early morning stroll. This was the last day the blossoms were good, because a big storm came in and wiped out the fragile blossoms. If you ever visit D.C. during Late March / early April, I hope you get the chance to experience this sight, and I recommend that you get up early and enjoy the view!
