This Basilica is absolutely amazing, yet not among the top tourist stops in Washington D.C.. It is near the National Franciscan Monastery featured in my last few posts. The exterior of this Basilica looks so different from the well-known Washington National Cathedral and there are many incredible churches and halls. My favorite was the Crypt Church in the lowest level, so that is where I spent the thirty minutes I had to spend.
